Fleur Carney
Fleur has lived in the North East for 16 years having grown up on the South Coast. She is a highly accomplished Registered General Nurse, clinical leader and manager demonstrating considerable success across all sectors of the NHS and the private sector. She has over 20 years’ experience in operational and strategic management. Her personal values are key to her working and personal life and these are very focused on doing the right thing at the right time with clear outcomes. She reinforces this at work with an emphasis on delivery of excellent and safe care to patients. Fleur joined The Toby Henderson Trust as a Trustee in May 2016 and is eager to use her skills to support the further development of TTHT in its determination and desire to provide responsive support for families, carers, children and adults with autism in the North East.
David Hope
David has a son who accessed services at The Toby Henderson Trust when it was based at The Old Barn. He brings a wealth of experience from the commercial sector and is currently Sales and Marketing Director at SIG plc, an £800 million turnover business.
Rachel Hodgson (Joint Chair)
Rachel is a Marketing Officer at NCFE, a national educational charity. She also has a background in cognitive linguistics and language acquisition with degrees from Northumbria University and the University of Edinburgh.
As a Trustee, it is Rachel’s aim to be a small part of creating awareness of what The Toby Henderson Trust has achieved so far and develop this awareness further in the future to enable Lesley and her team to reach and help more families.
Dr Morag Maskey
Morag has a son who accessed services at The Toby Henderson Trust when it was based at The Old Barn. She is a research associate at Newcastle University within the autism research team. Her main focus for research is interventions for children and adults with autism. Morag is married to John and they have three children. Her youngest son Ben is on the autism spectrum.
James Turner (Joint Chair)
James has a daughter who has accessed services at The Toby Henderson Trust both when it was based at The Old Barn and also at Toby House. He has been a Trustee at The Toby Henderson Trust since January 2014. He is Associate Director at Rocket Science – a research and evaluation consultancy firm and heads up their Newcastle office. His prior experience includes 15 years working in a variety of senior roles at the Big Lottery Fund.
Kevin Guthrie
Kevin has a son who accessed the playrooms at The Toby Henderson Trust when it was based at The Old Barn. Kevin is the Senior Partner in Guthrie Financial Planning Services Ltd, who are part of St. James Place Wealth Management, one of the UK’s leading wealth management organisations who collectively manage client funds of over £115.7 billion.
Dr Alex Shirley
Alex is the Director of Business Development at Changing Lives, a charity supporting vulnerable people to make meaningful and lasting changes to their lives, across the North East and West, Yorkshire and the Midlands, offering over 100 different services across Britain.
