Different – Not Less: Dawn’s Story
Join us for an inspiring talk and Q&A session about Dawn Allen’s journey as someone who was diagnosed with an ASD later in life.
Dawn wasn’t diagnosed with Asperger Syndrome and OCD until she was in her forties. Now retired, she was a professional scientist and IT specialist, who worked for the NHS at Wansbeck Hospital for over 36 years.
Dawn has been a friend of The Toby Henderson Trust since we opened. She became involved with our “Bond at the Barn” social group for young adults with Asperger Syndrome early in 2002. She has watched Toby grow up into the splendid young man he is today. Dawn has recently had her very own special news to share, as she met and married Billy last year.
