With your help we could!
The second ever North East Charity Awards take place on October 6th this year, and we would love to win Small Charity of The Year!
A glitzy ceremony at The Marriott Hotel in Newcastle will highlight the work of charities across the region, and the businesses and people who support them. The awards are being staged by The Journal along with sponsors Brewin Dolphin, Leathers LLP and other local firms.
There are eleven categories this year, recognising everyone from big corporate sponsors to single volunteers. Nominations can be made by anybody. This year there’s a new category: North East Small Charity of The Year. Winning this, or even making the shortlist, would raise our profile. And that would help us to attract sponsors, and let people know about the work we do.
You can nominate us for this award by filling in the form here.
The judges want to know:
- The difference The Toby Henderson Trust makes to the people who use our services. How have we made things better?
- How we help and how that help is structured. That could mean information about all the different things we do, from assessments to play therapy, so social activities like M.A.T.E.S. and our play schemes, plus the psychotherapy, advice and listening ear we provide.
- How we’ve raised money to fund our services and how we’ve delivered the support we give, especially if they’ve been particularly innovative.
- And the easy bits: What makes The Toby Henderson Trust special and why you personally think they should win.
We would be so grateful for your nomination. Obviously we’d be thrilled to win, but perhaps even just making the shortlist will bring us to the attention of someone who needs our help. The closing date for nominations is 5pm, Thursday 18th August.
