Thursday 18th March 2021 18:00pm-20:00pm
We are pleased to offer this webinar to families via Zoom, presented by our child and adolescent psychotherapist Carolyn Morgan, looking at Autism and Mental Health Difficulties in Children and Young People.
The mental health needs of people with autism are often overlooked. Problems such as anxiety, depression and obsessive behaviours can be common. It is difficult to find help and support for these issues. For our young people it may be very hard for them to communicate how they are feeling. We may see school avoidance, eating difficulties, self-harming behaviour, meltdowns, and troubled peer or sibling relationships amongst other problems.
This session is only available for parents and carers to gain an understanding of how autism and mental health are linked. We will look at ways to address these difficulties and find coping strategies to help our children improve their mental wellbeing and emotional resilience.
