Under 5s Multi Disciplinary Autism Assessment

Dr Sarah

We are delighted to share with you that we are now joined by an experienced paediatric consultant, Dr Sarah, who brings her medical expertise and specialist knowledge to our team.

We can offer additional autism assessments for 2 and a half to 5 year olds with the inclusion of an appointment with Dr Sarah in her Sunshine Space at Toby House.  Please note that we can start the pathway from the age of 2 and a half if the child is currently in nursery provision, if not – then we can start from age 3 to 5 years.

PLEASE NOTE WE ARE NOW ABLE TO ACCEPT PRIVATE ASSESSMENT ENQUIRIES FOR UNDER FIVE YEAR OLDS.

This consists of a fun and friendly child led appointment to get to know your child a little and to have a brief physical examination to ensure their physical health is OK.  This includes listening to their heart, measuring height, weight, head circumference and checking for any birth marks.

All other aspects of this new assessment will remain including the taking of a developmental history, discussions with nursery where appropriate and a play based observation and assessment carried out by one of our experienced Occupational Therapists and Speech & Language Therapists and/or our specialist playworker before all findings are taken to our  Multi Disciplinary Team (MDT) meeting where a diagnosis should be reached.

The fee for this new service for children aged 2 and a half to 5 years old is £2,528 which includes a £500 non refundable deposit.

Parents Feedback

“I just wanted to say a massive thank you to all the team at The Toby Henderson Trust.

From first initial enquiry to our son receiving his diagnosis all staff were really understanding, helpful and made us all feel at ease with the assessment process.

The support even after the diagnosis has been amazing and has had such a positive impact on our son and us as a family!
